"Sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't
make."
What was that song by
Garth Brooks; “Unanswered Prayers”? Yeah, I believe it was. I like to “go with
the flow”. No, I don’t mean by not having goals and floating down the stream
like a dead fish, but that when things don’t go as I’ve planned, I know that
something better in store is for me.
Every thought and every
action is an investment in our future. What we think comes about so I plan,
prioritize and proceed in the best way I know. However, I plan and God directs.
So what happens is out of my hands ultimately. We can make our plans, but
the Lord determines our steps.
So when we are
negotiating a “deal” or making any decision where we would absolutely love what
we in our own minds think is the very best; and then it goes “the other way”, I
bless the situation, and the person who “won” knowing that I also won. And, as
I learned from Catherine Ponder to say, “This or something better”. Years later
looking back, we may see how the result was truly the best thing which could
have happened.
Your thoughts?
