You are what you digest.
We’ve heard it said that we are what we eat but probably
more true would be that we are what we digest. To get the most out of what we
eat we must have good digestion. I won’t go into that here but I wanted to
share a quick comment I posted in a Facebook discussion.
Facebook has become quite the place to discuss many topics
and good health is one popular topic. A friend posted a pic of all of his pills
that he takes and someone wisely commented on a way he could reduce the number
of pills by eating better foods.
My point here may seem “harsh” but it is true that “truth
does hurt” at least at first. So here is my point, which I know may “sting” a
bit, but here goes.
If you want more of what you have, continue posting and
talking about what you’ve got. If you want change, start posting what you
desire. (Note that I used the word “desire” because I believe that we don’t
have “wants”. If you believe you have “wants”, you’ll always want).
Try this. Take this picture with all of these pills, print
it and with a big bold black marker write over it the word “Before”. Now take a
picture of this same table where you have all of these pills lined up and
remove all of them, now showing only the table top. Print this picture and with
a big bold marker write the words “My desired state of great health”.
As you physically cut the “Before” picture into tiny pieces
and as they drop into the waste can say, “Thank you that I no longer depend on
these medications”. (Don’t stop taking them without the doctor’s approval; I’m
not a doctor and I don’t play one on TV or Facebook).
Now carry your “My desired state of great health” picture and
look at it right away when you get up in the morning, at every meal time, and
at night before you go to sleep. Do this for 7 days and then let’s see how you
feel.
While you are doing this exercise, be sure that you are
eating better, as per my comment that I posted about how you should eat two
healthy foods for every one “non-healthy” food. (You don’t have to give up the
foods you love).
Here are the Facebook comments along with mine. Please be
sure to read my final comment at the end of this article.

FACEBOOK POSTING PERSON:
We're going to get this party started one way
or another,
Gotta pay bills and for all this medication, WTH ! F*+K GETTING
OLDER !
(My comment): We and our situation will never be “blessed”
when we continually “curse”, but that’s for another article.
FRIEND NAME sucks
FACEBOOK POSTING PERSON: Right ? How you doing ...
ANOTHER FRIEND NAME I know where your coming from
ANOTHER FRIEND NAME God put all the food on this earth to cure our
health problems. High blood pressure.......Blueberries, beets and celery.
Whatever your problem is do a search on it and wean yourself off all the pills.
MY COMMENT Thank you so much ANOTHER
FRIEND NAME for saying this. Not easy to do I know but you are absolutely
right. Yes, first write down your "ailments". Next find out what
foods alleviate those ailments and what foods do not. Then, for every ONE food
you are now enjoying which do not help to alleviate the ailment, take TWO that
do. You will get and feel better; believe it!
You think doing this for seven days is too hard? Do you think
this method is nonsense? Then I would like to remind you of the story of Naaman
who, in the Bible was told to dip seven times in the Jordan River, (2 Kings 5:10
– 14). You too can run off in a rage or
do what Naaman did and take action. In other articles I talk about being a
blessing or a curse to other and ourselves. Here I’ll just remind us to watch
what we say. Finally, I will also say that we need to watch what we post and
share with others either on Facebook or just with friends in conversation. If
we want more of it share and talk about it, if we want less or none of it and
desire to greater and better things, we should share and talk about that.
Go forth and do great things!
