Learn from your Successes

I will start today by telling you: "Don’t Learn from your Mistakes" This may seem contrary to what you have learned, but it is true; here's what I mean by that.

Successful people don’t learn from their mistakes; they learn from their successes.

You may have heard the several variations on what Edison said about having made 1,000 or 10,000 (depending on what version you hear) mistakes when he finally invented the light bulb. His answer was that he didn’t make the 1,000 or 10,000 mistakes, he simply found 1,000 or 10,000 ways that didn’t work! This tells me that Edison did not learn from his mistakes but that he “looked at things differently” and learned from his successes.

Today dwell on your past successes (not your mistakes) and know that if you succeeded in one area, no matter how small, in the past, that you can succeed in something, no matter how big, today. Donald Trump says to dream big because it takes just as much work to dream big as it does to dream small.

PURPOSE, WHY IMPORTANT, and IDEAL OUTCOME

Many know me as a professional marketer and public speaker/trainer. This month I’m sharing about how you can meet and exceed your goals. Since there is nothing “new under the sun”, I’m going to let one of my mentors share with you. Now of course, this is about Real Estate but the principles will work for anything you want in life. Check out this video by one of my mentors, Dean Graziosi.
PURPOSE, WHY IMPORTANT, and IDEAL OUTCOME. Write these words down; yes, actually write these words down. OK, thank yourself for doing so. Now fill in the blanks. Watch the video so you can see what Dean is doing as it pertains to helping Real Estate Investors. It’s at:
Ask yourself these questions and fill in your own answers:
·         What specific thing do you want to accomplish?
·         What is the biggest difference this will make within your life?
·         What does this "thing" look like when successfully completed?
·         What are the success criteria that must be true when this is finished?
·         What is the best result you could expect if you take this action?
·         What is the worst result you could experience if you do not take action?

Make it a great day!
Terrific. Energizing. Results

“Life will give you whatever you’ll accept”

In his book “All You Can Do is All You Can Do”, A.L. Williams reminds us all of a few hard facts. Even though his book was written in 1988, it is so appropriate for today’s world.
Today, it seems that many people not only want someone or some government to give them something, they are relying on someone or some government to give them something. According to Art Williams, and me, this doesn’t have to be. When we rely on someone else for our needs, we are not truly free.
In what he calls an “unwritten law” that states: “Life will give you whatever you’ll accept”, reminds me of an old poem titled:

My Wage
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”

Williams goes on speaking about life granting us our expectations. He tells us that if you’ll accept being average and ordinary, life will make you average and ordinary. If you’ll accept being unhappy, life will make you unhappy. If you’ll accept having financial problems, life will give it to you. But if you won’t accept those things, and if you demand happiness, success, and fulfillment, that’s exactly what you’ll get.

Know that it is totally up to you and me to achieve greater and be an example to others so they will do the same. Mark Twain told us years ago: “Don’t go around saying the worl owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first”.

In my website called Attainment Rules, I explain how to affirm those good things that you want, happiness, success, and fulfillment (in all of the Major 8 areas). So I leave you with this affirmation. Write it down on a 3x5 card, read it 3 times a day for 7 days and then return here and leave a comment as to what has happened.

I decree, I declare, and I accept that I am extraordinary; I exude happiness, experience success in all areas of my life: spiritually, socially, financially, and emotionally, and am totally fulfilled in every way. For this to be, it is up to me.

There’s a gift waiting for you just for reading this. Go to Attainment Rules and you’ll see how to download success aids that will help you on your journey to success; whatever it is to you.

Live your life, not your loss! No excuses...

PS. Still making excuses for things (or lack of things) in your life? Here’s some quotes worth reading:

Make it happen, no excuses!

Sometimes you can find mentors anywhere, even in a book.

From time to time, I like to share a few “bullets” of wisdom that will hopefully make you “stronger” not only as a speaker but as a person as well. Remember that when I’m (figuratively) pointing a finger at you, I’m pointing the others right back at me; we all need this stuff to move on!

I read from a group of books at the same time, a kind of multitasking for the mind. One of the books I’m reading now is called NO EXCUSES! Fitness Workout, written by Harvey Walden and I must say this guy is the real deal. He’s a marine and is seen on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club.

I’ve only read a few pages but this guy gets right in your face from the pages of this book. I’m sharing with you just a few paragraphs from page 4:

In martial arts you learn that if someone pushes you down you’ve got to know how to roll, how to fall, and how to absorb the blow. You’ve got to give in so that you can come back up and kick some a--.
That’s a good lesson for life too.
So the trick is to find your chi: Relax, breath easy, believe you can do it.
Roll with the punches- and then come back up.
And you already know: The good things in life don’t come easy. When you put in the hard work and make sacrifices, and believe me, if you bust you butt you appreciate what you’ve achieved later. Don’t think its’ always going to be read roses. H---, if it was easy, you’d be a waste of sperm.

Strong stuff, right?

Let’s be strong. Sure you’ll have obstacles, you’ll have times you don’t want to do something, times you’ll settle for less, and want to find ways not to do something instead of finding alternatives to make it happen.

Make it happen!
